Community Directory-- We are starting a community directory. If you specialize in certain trades, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, lawn care etc. and would like to offer those services to the people of Oakville, please email us and we will get you added to the directory. The purpose of the community directory is to form a trusted network of people who are skilled in a particular trade or craft and are willing to work in their own neighborhood. Ponds--
The HOA purchased an underwater aeration system for the big pond. There are five different points in the big pond that you might notice large amounts of bubbles rising to the surface. This is normal and healthy for the pond. This type of aeration is more efficient than a fountain and cheaper to run. The oxygenated water helps natural bacteria thrive and break down waste in the pond, and it is really good for the fish too!
ASAP Aquatics will start treating the ponds once the water temperature gets high enough. The chemicals they use do not work until the water gets to a certain temperature. The ponds get treated bi-weekly. Leistners treats for a number of aquatic plants but some plants require a special type of application, cat tails being one. If you observe a problem in one of the ponds please contact the board at hoapresident19@gmail.com and we will get any problems taken care of.
